Planning a wedding at the Attaboy Barrel House is easy and breezy... we're a turn key venue that includes everything you need for a beautiful, seamless celebration. From included tables, chairs & glassware to beer garden plus ups like games, fire pit and smores. The Attaboy Barrel House takes care of the basics so you can focus on the important things!
We have 6 years of wedding venue experience and have learned there are some things you just don't need on your big day! Knowing which extras to skip can help you focus on what truly matters: celebrating your love with family and friends. This guide highlights five common wedding extras you can confidently leave out to enjoy a simpler, more relaxed celebration.

1. Expensive Wedding Favors
Wedding favors are a traditional way to thank guests, but elaborate or costly favors often go unused or forgotten. From local honey or homemade jam, guests forget to grab them at the end of the night or purposely leave them as they are heading to the after party. Instead of spending a lot on personalized gifts, consider skipping favors altogether or choosing something simple and meaningful, like a handwritten thank-you note or a small edible treat. This saves money and reduces clutter.
2. Elaborate Wedding Invitations
While invitations set the tone for your wedding, extravagant designs with multiple inserts, ribbons, or custom calligraphy can be expensive and time-consuming. Digital invitations or simple, elegant printed post cards are the latest trend and can be just as effective and more eco-friendly. Many invitations often now have a QR code linking to the wedding website and RSVP.
3. Multiple Outfit Changes
Some couples plan several outfit changes for the ceremony, reception, and after-party. This can add stress, require extra time, and increase costs for dresses, tailoring, and accessories. Choose one or two outfits that you love and feel comfortable in, so you can enjoy your day without worrying about wardrobe changes. We do recommend some comfy shoes for the dance floor! That we can get behind!
4. Skip The Charter Bus For Your Wedding Guests
Unless you are celebrating in the country side, guests expect to get to and from your venue on their own. At the Attaboy Barrel House, we have free parking, it is walkable to downtown and Frederick has plenty of Lyfts & Ubers.
5. Wedding Cake Cutting
Many couples are skipping the cake all together or having a semi-private, more personal cake cutting with just the photographer. No need to stop the celebration for this outdated trend - just keep the party rolling!
